For our holiday community sharing program this year we chose Tikkun Farm, a 3.5 acre neighborhood non-profit farm in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. Tikkun is a Hebrew word meaning “repair” or “restore”. Their vision is to serve by restoring people, community and creation through their many meaningful programs and spiritual practices. They offer community meals, teach adult cooking classes, and have healing experiences using yoga and writing. They send out 320 crockpot meal bags weekly. More than 200 volunteers/week partner with them in feeding neighbors, caring for creation, tending to animals, preparing youth for jobs, educating children about the environment, growing food and healing trauma.
The staff at CMS donated and delivered food, paper products and toys for their Free Market. Families take as much food as they need (keeping in mind there are other families in need of extra food support) and are also given the opportunity to select toys for Christmas.
