The Westfield Insurance Foundation partnered with CMS Insurance Agency to donate $5,500 to New Life Furniture Bank to help families stabilize or recover from disasters as part of the Legacy of Caring Program. Each year, Westfield’s top independent insurance agents are invited to nominate a local non-profit in their community to receive a donation.
The Westfield Insurance Foundation, an independent private foundation endowed by Westfield, awards the donation to support their top agents’ local communities. The program is designed to mirror what the insurance industry does every day – stabilize families, businesses and communities in times of uncertainty.
CMS once again nominated New Life Furniture Bank because of their commitment to “DO GOOD” by serving our most vulnerable neighbors. Turning empty houses into homes gives people hope and dignity. Families are 3 times more likely to return to homelessness if not provided with basic and essential furnishings like a bed to sleep on, a table to eat at, and a sofa to gather. NLF partners with over 50 social service agencies to serve those in need throughout the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Dayton areas and in 2023 provided 2,278 families with those furnishings that make a house a home.
If you are moving, downsizing or just spring cleaning, consider donating your gently used items (furniture, bedding, home decor, clothing, jewelry, art, books and more) to New Life Furniture Bank. Items may also be taken to New Life Furniture Thrift Store in Sharonville. The thrift store operates as a retail store where shoppers in need of affordable home furnishings (or seeking a hidden treasure) can find a large selection of items. The thrift store serves as a permanent source of financial support for the furniture bank. Visit their website to learn more nlfurniture.org.
